About me
My name is Andrei Gabreanu and I am blogger, team leader and web developer focused on PHP (mainly). I currently work at Ubisoft Entertainment as a Web Developer, at Leadmesh as a Lead Web Developer and in my spare time i work on some personal projects based on web crawling engines ( http://videofind.ro / http://newsfind.ro ) and i write on this blog.
I started developing in 2007 working for my own company, developing a YouTube clone, specialized in quality videos and self created content. Since then, i was actively involved in more then 30 projects. Nowadays, i am actively developing and focusing on web crawling engines but also, user interface design patterns and SQL engineering.
In paralel, i also lead a team of 2 people (so far!) for my personal projects.
Why phpDevelopment ?
I never was a fan of personal blogs (wait don’t shoot! i respect them) so i thought of a blog with a more generic name, which would imply that you won’t have personal content rather then general information that might (or might not) help you.
About the blog itself
The blog itself was started in 2009 and its goal was to provide high quality tutorials and informations from the web (and IT) industry. Mostly, i focus on the problems i find each day when developing and try to post the solutions to these on the blog and i haven’t changed this goal, so far. You will find mostly PHP tutorials, mainly basd on frameworks (zend and cakephp so far) but also MySQL, Linux, jQuery, CSS and usability related articles, based on what i find to be usefull in that particular day. I also plan to provide some free content but still haven’t made the step in that direction yet.
