Those are the plugins (ex: an Auth plugin which you can reuse). In ZF modules help you break down an application into several parts. Here are some examples: a) Frontend / Backend (you have a webapplication which your users use but you have an admin also to manage the users and the privileges and so on) b) Website / API . You have a web app. which your users use but also the same app. can be used via an API. It makes sense to make a module out of it since if you do a separate app, you will end up duplicating code that you *already* wrote for the frontend (ofcourse this means that you thought of your models structure properly and they can be accessed regardless of the method (an API or an MVC system). I wanted to know what is the advantage of making the application modular based. At first, I thought that modules helped you avoid copy pasting code that could be used in several parts of your application. The way the folder structure is in this example seems that module based application in Zend is much different than what I thought. I have problem with autoloading classes from module directory on Linux (Win 7 works fine).
My structure is following
modules
-admin
–controllers
–forms
–models
—repositories
—entities
-frontend
so on . Its basically the same like yours.
If I am trying to create new instance from admin/controller/TestController.php
new Admin_Model_Entities_Video(); (file is in admin/models/entities/Video.php ) i get error that php can´t find this class.

I tried to copy this file straight to admin/models/Video.php
and if I call new Admin_Model_Video() I is all right.

Don´t you have any idea why is that? It doesn¨t work only on Linux.
